Of course he will appoint a Democrat who then has the benefit of incumbency and of course that person will politicize the position. 

This was the only Republican held statewide office on the entire West Coast.

Republicans have held this position since 1964. None of the Republicans to have held this position have ever been hard conservatives but they’ve always won.

It may now be lost forever.

Call her a RINO or whatever I prefer to keep that office. This is sad for our state.
